In the wake of the release of a Medicare regulation that calls for a new round of major cuts in Medicare DSH payments beginning in FY 2015, NAUH asks members of Congress to direct the administration to protect hospitals from such cuts.
NAUH asks members of the Senate to co-sponsor bipartisan legislation to add a risk-adjustment component to Medicare’s hospital readmissions reduction program.
The National Association of Urban Hospitals has written to Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Roger Wicker (R-MS) endorsing their new legislation, the Hospital Readmissions Program Accuracy and Accountability Act. The bill calls for adding risk adjustment to Medicare’s hospital readmissions reduction program – a change NAUH has long advocated.
NAUH asks members of the House of Representatives to sign onto a bipartisan letter from Reps. Adam Schiff and Devin Nunes asking House leadership to bring to the floor legislation to delay Medicare DSH cuts.
In written testimony submitted to the House Ways and Means Committee, NAUH outlined the many reasons that Affordable Care Act-mandated cuts in Medicare disproportionate share hospital payments (Medicare DSH) should be delayed and urged committee members to enact legislation requiring such a delay.
